Community goals
A shared target for the whole server, such as earning 50,000 XP together this week, with a progress message Buddy keeps updated and a reward for everyone when it's reached.

A community goal gives everyone one thing to push for together: "earn 50,000 XP this week", "send 10,000 messages this month" or "spend 3,000 minutes in voice". Buddy posts a progress message and keeps it updated, and when the goal is reached the whole server gets the reward.
Goals count what members already do: XP earned, messages that earn XP, or minutes in voice. Nothing new is tracked, so they cost the bot nothing extra.
Before you start#
- The XP system must be on.
- Pick a Goals channel in
/xp engagement→ Goals (or on the dashboard's XP engagement page). Buddy needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links there. - Starting and editing goals needs Manage Server. Members see goals with
/xp goals.
Starting a goal#
Run /xp goals (or /xpgoals). Admins get the goals panel:
- Pick Runs until (this week, ending Sunday 23:59 UTC, or this month), What counts (XP earned, messages or voice minutes) and the Reward.
- Press Start a goal, enter the Target and an optional Title, and the goal is posted in the goals channel straight away.
Goals always run to the end of the current week or month (UTC), so the progress bar and the weekly and monthly leaderboards line up. Up to three goals can run at once.
Rewards#

| XP boost for everyone | A server-wide XP multiplier (1.1–10) for a set time (5 minutes to a week). It's a normal XP event, so it stacks with other multipliers and shows in /xp event. |
| XP to the contributors | A flat amount of XP to everyone who added to the goal (the top 100 contributors). |
Everyone who contributed also unlocks the Team player achievement when achievements are on.
The progress message#
The message shows the total so far, a progress bar, the top three contributors and when the goal ends. Buddy updates it every 15 minutes, or sooner when progress jumps 5%. When the goal is reached (or the period ends without reaching it) the message is updated and a fresh post is added so people notice. Post progress now in a goal's editor posts it again.
Repeating goals#
Turn on Repeat every period and a new goal with the same target and reward starts as soon as the current one ends, reached or not.
Editing and ending#
Pick a goal in /xp goals to change its target, title or reward, post the progress, End now
(marks it as not reached, no reward) or Delete it.
What members see#
/xp goals shows every running goal with the total, their own contribution and their share of
it. The progress message in the channel is for everyone.
Troubleshooting#
Start a goal says "Pick a goals channel first"#
Set the Goals channel in /xp engagement → Goals. Buddy needs Embed Links there.
The progress isn't moving#
Only activity that earns XP counts: messages during the XP cooldown or in a no-XP channel don't. The message updates every 15 minutes, so give it a moment.
The goal was reached but nobody got the boost#
The boost is an XP event: check /xp event. If the XP system was turned off in between, the
reward is skipped.
