Which cookies and similar technologies Discord Buddy uses, why, and how to accept, reject or change your choices.

1. Who we are

Discord-Buddy.com (“Discord Buddy”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Sargent Interactive LLC, PO Box 65, Toney, AL 35773, USA. This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, embedded content and tracking scripts) used on discord-buddy.com. It applies alongside our Privacy Policy. Questions: [email protected].

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Websites can also store data in your browser's local storage, or load content and scripts from other companies, which can then set their own cookies and receive information about your visit (such as your IP address, browser details and the page you're on).

3. How we use them

We use strictly necessary technologies to run the site — keeping you signed in, protecting forms and the site from abuse, and remembering your cookie choices. These are always on.

We also use the following optional categories, but only if you allow them:

  • Functional: Loads videos embedded in our blog and docs from YouTube. When a video loads, YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies or store data on its own domains.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows us which pages are used, so we can improve the site. It sets first-party cookies with a random visitor ID. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off for our Analytics property.
  • Marketing: Google AdSense shows ads to visitors who don't have Premium and helps pay for the free service. Google may use cookies to personalize ads, limit how often you see an ad and detect ad fraud, and may pass ad requests to the ad technology partners it works with. Premium supporters never see ads.

Optional categories are off until you turn them on. Before you choose, and after you reject, no analytics, advertising or video scripts are loaded and nothing is sent to those providers (we don't use “cookieless” pings or non-personalized ads as a fallback). Turning a category off later stops it. When Analytics is on, we send Google page addresses without any query string, so search terms you type are not shared.

This list covers what our site sets or loads. Providers may change cookie names; we review this list regularly.

“Browser lifetime” is how long the item stays in your browser. How long a provider keeps data it receives is a separate matter, set by that provider's own policies.

  • When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept All, Reject Optional or Customize by category. Closing or ignoring it, scrolling or browsing does not count as agreement.
  • You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with Cookie Settings in the footer of every page, or with the button below. Withdrawing stops the optional technologies, removes the cookies and storage they set on our domain, and reloads the page where needed so nothing keeps running.
  • Your choice is stored for 182 days in the db_consent cookie on this website only. It is not shared with other websites or community sites, and we only ask again when it expires or when we materially change which technologies or providers we use.
  • Rejecting optional cookies does not affect logging in, managing your servers, buying Premium or reading the site.

6. Third-party content and providers

When an optional technology is allowed, the provider receives information directly from your browser — at least your IP address, browser details and the page you are viewing — and may set cookies on its own domains, which we cannot read, control or delete. Their use is governed by their own policies, such as How Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy. These providers may process data outside your country.

YouTube videos in our blog and docs show a placeholder until you allow Functional cookies. You can also load a single video with its Load video button, which loads only that video and doesn't change your settings.

Some necessary parts of the site are also delivered by other companies. Your browser contacts them, sharing your IP address and browser details, but we do not use them to track you:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (All pages (CDN and security), cdnjs.cloudflare.com): Delivers and protects the site; hosts some code libraries.
  • Discord Inc. (discord.com, cdn.discordapp.com): Logging in with Discord, server invites, and server icons, banners and avatars shown on pages.
  • jsDelivr / code.jquery.com (cdn.jsdelivr.net, code.jquery.com): Hosts the open-source libraries the site is built with (Bootstrap, jQuery, Select2, icons).
  • Sargent Interactive LLC (billing) (Checkout pages you choose to open): Processes Premium payments when you start a checkout.

7. Browser controls

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop sign-in from working. Clearing cookies in your browser removes your saved choice, so you'll see the banner again. Clearing cookies doesn't recall data that was already sent to a provider; for that, see the provider's policy or our Privacy Policy.

8. Global Privacy Control and opt-out signals

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. While it is on, advertising (Marketing) stays off on that browser even if you previously chose, or now choose, “Accept All”, and we remove advertising cookies set on our domain. You don't need an account for this. When we detect the signal, the banner and Cookie Settings show “opt-out request honored”.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the technologies we use change. If a change affects which optional technologies or providers we use, we ask for your choice again.

  • 14 October 2026 — First version. Optional analytics, advertising and YouTube embeds now load only after you allow them; added Cookie Settings.
