Introduction to Discord Buddy
What Discord Buddy is, what it can do for your server, how setup works at a glance and what Premium adds. Start here if you're new.
Discord Buddy ("Buddy") is a Discord bot with a website dashboard. You add the bot to your server, then set everything up from discord-buddy.com in your browser: welcome messages, XP and levels, tickets, logs, rotating banners and much more. No config files, no typing long commands to change a setting.
Buddy has three parts that work together:
| Part | What it is | Where you find it |
|---|---|---|
| The bot | Lives in your server. Posts messages, gives roles, runs slash commands like /rank and /ticket. /setup opens a private control panel for admins and /help a help center for everyone. | In your member list, and under / in any channel |
| The dashboard | Where you switch features on and change every setting for a server you manage. | Dashboard in the top bar of the website (/ManageDiscord) |
| The server list | A public directory where people discover new servers. List yours for free. | Find Servers in the top bar (/Discords) |

How setup works#
Getting a server ready takes a few minutes:
Use Add to Discord on the website and pick your server. You need Manage Server (or Administrator) in that server to add a bot. See Add Buddy to your server.
Log in with Discord, then pick the server on My Discords. Only servers where you have Administrator are listed. See First-time setup.
Open the dashboard and work through the sidebar, or run /setup in Discord to see what's set up in each area and jump straight to its settings page (Using Buddy in Discord). Most servers start with Welcome messages, XP & levels, Server logs and Server listing. The dashboard tour shows you around.
Buddy can only do what its role allows. The /setup panel's health check lists anything missing. Read Permissions & roles before setting up roles, moderation or tickets.

Free vs Premium#
Almost everything is free. Premium raises limits (more banners, icons, ticket categories and so on) and unlocks a few extras such as timed messages, longer analytics history and a custom bot. Plans and prices are on the Premium page.
Run /help in your server to browse the commands you can use. The
troubleshooting guide covers the most common problems, and the
FAQ answers quick questions. You can also ask in our support server, see
