Higher limits with Premium Updated Oct 21, 2026
On this page

Discord Buddy is free to use, and most features have no paid version at all. Premium is a monthly subscription that raises the limits on tools you already use and unlocks a handful of extras. You buy it for your Discord account, then choose which of your servers get it.

What Premium adds#

Every plan includes all Premium features. Higher plans raise the limits and the number of servers.

The exact numbers for each plan, and the prices, are on the Premium page under Feature Comparison. Limits are configured per plan and can change, so that page is always the source of truth.

Where the limits show up

Pages with a limit show a usage bar like "4 / 5 used". On a free server they also tell you what you'd get with Premium, for example "Upgrade to Premium to unlock up to N …".

How plans and servers fit together#

Premium belongs to your Discord account, not to a server. Each plan comes with a number of Premium server slots, shown on each plan as "Up to N Premium servers". You fill a slot by turning Premium on in a server, and everything Premium applies to that server for everyone in it.

  • You can move a slot to a different server any time.
  • If two people give the same server Premium, it gets the better of the two plans.
  • If you downgrade to a plan with fewer slots, servers in the slots you no longer have stop being Premium.

Turn Premium on for a server#

You can do this on the website or in Discord. Both use the same slots.

On the website#

Subscribe

Pick a plan on the Premium page and finish checkout. You need to be logged in with the Discord account that will own the subscription.

Open the server's dashboard

Go to My Discords and pick the server. You need Administrator there.

Click Make Server Premium

It's under the server name at the top of the dashboard sidebar. Confirm in the box that opens.

All slots full?

Buddy lists the servers using your slots. Pick one to move Premium from, then click Move Premium Here.

Your slots and the servers using them are listed under Premium servers on My Premium.

In Discord#

Subscribe

Pick a plan on the Premium page and finish checkout. You need to be logged in with the Discord account that will own the subscription.

Open the server in Discord

Go to the server you want to make Premium. You need Administrator there.

Run /setup and choose Make Server Premium

Buddy shows your plan and your slots ("Premium Server 1", "Premium Server 2"…), each with the server using it or "No Server Selected".

Click Give This Server Premium

Then click Yes to confirm. Buddy replies "Server name now has premium enabled!"

Repeat for other servers

Do the same in each server you want, up to your plan's limit.

/setup [feature] Administrator

Open the server setup panel (only you can see it).

  • feature text, optional — Jump straight to one setup task (leave empty to open the panel) (Command Roles, My Premium Settings, Make Server Premium, Update Channels and Roles for Website, XP System, Create Application Embed with Dropdown, Create Ticket Embed with Button, Server Logs, Join & Leave Messages, Boost Messages, Counting Channel, Daily Activity Report, Warn System, Message Filters, Ban Appeals, Auto Responder)

When all your slots are full#

Clicking Give This Server Premium shows a menu, Select Discord Server to Replace Premium On!, listing each slot as Replace Premium Server 1, Replace Premium Server 2 and so on. Pick one and that server loses Premium while the current one gains it.

Old Server has been replaced by Example Server.

Check which servers have Premium#

  • In Discord: /setup → My Premium Settings lists your plan and each slot.
  • On My Discords, Premium servers carry a Premium badge.
  • In the dashboard, the server card shows a Premium badge and the home page's Premium status card says "Premium enabled".
  • On Account → My Premium, the "Premium servers" badge shows how many slots you've used.

Remove Premium from a server#

In the dashboard for that server, click Remove Premium on the server card in the sidebar and confirm. That frees your slot so you can use it on another server. Only the account whose slot the server is using can remove it.

Manage your subscription#

Everything about billing happens on Account → My Premium (open the account menu, top right, and choose My Premium): your plan and its limits, Change Plan, Cancel Subscription or Resume Subscription, Billing History with printable receipts, and updating a declined card. See Billing & subscriptions.

Troubleshooting#

I subscribed but /setup says "You currently do not have premium."#

Your payment may still be processing. Wait a moment, refresh Account → My Premium, then run /setup again. Make sure you're using the same Discord account you subscribed with.

Premium is on but the dashboard still shows Premium labels#

The dashboard caches server details for about a minute. Reload the page after a minute or two.

"This guild already has premium enabled."#

The server already has Premium, possibly from another member's plan. You don't need to use a slot.

Premium features stopped working#

  • Check Account → My Premium for a Payment issue banner. Premium features are paused until a failed payment goes through. Use Update Payment Method.
  • If you cancelled, Premium ends when the paid period does.
  • If you downgraded, the server may be in a slot your new plan doesn't include. Re-run Make Server Premium in the server you care about.

Removing Premium shows an error#

The server is using someone else's slot. Ask them to remove it, or leave it.
