Once the XP system is running, members can see where they
stand. /rank shows a personal rank card, /xpleaderboard shows the server's top members,
/xpstats gives the full numbers, and /xprewards lets everyone claim a small daily and weekly
XP bonus. There's nothing to configure: these commands work as soon as XP is on.
Before you start#
- The XP system must be switched on. Otherwise the commands reply that XP is disabled and explain how to turn it on.
- To limit who can use them, or where, see Command roles.

Rank card#
/rank (or /rank user: @Alex) posts an image card with:
- The member's avatar and server nickname.
- Rank #N: their position on the server leaderboard (left off if they have no XP yet).
- Level and total XP.
- A progress bar with their XP into the current level and the XP the next level needs, like
35 / 1469 XP.
Ranks are by total XP. Members with the same XP share the same rank.
Want a rank card on every level-up? Turn on Include rank image with level-up message in Level-up messages on the XP & levels page.
Leaderboard#
/xpleaderboard posts an image of the top 10 members, each with their position, name,
Level and Total XP. Use page to jump further down (/xpleaderboard page: 3 shows
ranks 21–30).
When there's more than one page, the message has Previous Page and Next Page buttons.
Only the person who ran the command can use them, and they stop working after 60 seconds. Anyone
else who clicks is told to run /xpleaderboard themselves.

[ Previous Page ] [ Next Page ]
The leaderboard includes everyone with XP on your server, including people who have left (they show with their Discord name, or Unknown User).
XP stats#
/xpstats replies privately with an embed:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Level / Rank / Total XP | Same as the rank card. Rank shows Unranked for members with no XP. |
| Messages Sent | Messages sent while XP was on, outside no-XP and blacklisted channels. Includes messages that didn't earn XP (short ones or during the cooldown). |
| Voice Time | Time in voice that counted toward voice XP, including the current session. |
| Progress | XP into the current level / XP the next level needs. |
| Last Message / Last Voice | When they last earned text XP, and when they last earned voice XP (or "now" if they're in voice). |
Daily and weekly rewards#
Members can claim a free XP bonus with /xprewards:
| Reward | Amount | Can claim again after |
|---|---|---|
/xprewards daily | 2 × your server's Text XP | 24 hours |
/xprewards weekly | 5 × your server's Text XP | 7 days |
With the default Text XP of 15, that's 30 XP a day and 75 XP a week. The timer starts from each member's last claim, not at a fixed time of day.
You claimed 30 XP for your daily reward!
Claiming too early tells the member how long to wait:
You can claim again in 312 minutes.
A few rules:
- Rewards are fixed amounts. Multipliers don't change them.
- Members with a blacklisted role, or using the command in a no-XP or blacklisted channel, get "You can't earn XP here" and their timer isn't used up.
- A reward can level a member up. Because the reply is private, the level-up message only appears if you've set a Level-up channel.
- To change the amounts, change Text XP on the XP & levels page.
Troubleshooting#
"The XP system is disabled for this server"#
Switch on XP system on the XP & levels page, or run
/xpsettings setting: enabled value: true.
The leaderboard says "No XP data yet."#
Nobody has earned XP since it was turned on (or since an XP reset). It fills in as members chat and spend time in voice.
The rank card or leaderboard doesn't show up#
- Buddy must have View Channel and Send Messages in the channel, or the command won't run.
- If the card can't be built, Buddy replies "Unable to build the rank card right now." Try again in a moment.
My level on /rank doesn't match my last level-up message#
/rank always uses the current level curve. If an admin changed Level base or Level
multiplier, your level is recalculated. See How levels are calculated.
The Next Page button does nothing#
Only the person who ran the command can change pages, and only for 60 seconds. Run
/xpleaderboard page: 2 instead.
